It’s after the air intake filter box and before the throttle body. It will have a harness plug on it. Front right corner. On the pipe for the air intake.

You can buy some Mass Airflow sensor cleaner. That’s something you can do. Clean it by spraying it. Have to remove it though. 7mm socket to loosen the hose clamps that hold it in. Be careful with it. Don’t touch the inside. Spray the cleaner in and let it dry. Reinstall.
Might help the sensor work better.

I think I found something reading the workshop manual does this help?

Our VE gets voltage drop to the MAF. It’s the plug. The MAF is a mAchTeR and the plug doesn’t sit quite right compared with a genuine one. Wiggle the plug and the 5v reference comes good. It’s cable tied up to firm up the plug and problem sorted.

Where is the plug located?

I also forgot to mention that the cruise control doesn’t work and hasn’t worked since I bought the car if that helps
