    HI all members,

I'm going to buy a 06 VE SS or VE SS-V and i found one from the net.

The owener told me that his car is VE SS but interior has all extra G8 option but from my view it's an actually VE SS-V.

I have no idea why the owner told me that and i checked his car VIN from the net, and in the report it says (Variant/Serises: SS-V/VE).

But the owner is strongly sure it's VE SS + G8 Extra interior options.....lol

    These are the fotos belows:

As these fotos, the V is on the left of the back and the SS is on the right of the car.

Put more close through the interior. i suggest that a VE SS-V......is there any differ between the VE SS + G8 OPTIONS AND VE SS-V?

What you think? or this is an actually VE SS not a SS-V?

    Tony

Depends on what you wanna get. I'd say if you're after a good interior, the g8 is very nice (biased option, seeing as in I own a G8). SSV's also have a nice interior as well (as I owned one previously) but its pretty much the same thing.

Again, all on you. How much you looking at spending? And the difference between the two cars (SS vs SSV) you are looking at?

It looks like a SSV interior with a hideous colour scheme to me.

Yep, its an SS-V interior, and exterior.
(Projector front lights, Colour LCD screen, alloy pedals, etc, etc)

I dont know what he means by G8 options,
There was a limited edition SS-V with the G8 front bar, G8 bonnet, and the factory (Classy) chrome door handles.
    This isn't one of them.

Also if you rocked up and wanted to buy a brand new SS-V with the G8 options, you are going to find one very confused sales rep, as he will not have any idea what you are talking about.
You might want to ask him what does he mean by G8 options.
(G8s in the states have the following that Australian Commodores dont, and will never have),
    Heated front seats,
Tire pressure monitoring (In Oz, this is a LWB, HSV feature only),
    Remote Start from remote control,
Different Colour LCD fascia and G8 marked cluster.

    Hope this helps.

Those are G8 wheels. Other than that, it looks just like an SS-V.

Might want to point out to the seller that the G8 was only sold in the US for MY08 and 09, so it's pretty unlikely a 2006 built car would have anything G8 on it from the factory...

No they're not. They're after market. The G8 wheels are what you see on the Redline editions atm.

Hmmm.. interesting. Not sure mate, but mine came with the first set of rims stock so I had em changed. Prefer the SSV stockys though, looks much better.

they are the redline wheels, they were fitted to the pontiacs in the usa because of the brembo brakes, but we got the std. ssv wheels as we got the std. brake package.

Redline wheels look like cheap knock offs of the gts wheels.

I've always thought that some makes do red interiors really well.. VE commodore is not one of them though IMO. And that one in the photos has not worn well at all.

Depends... Some came with the Pontiacs. Holden basically had a lot of Pontiac stock to get rid of so they slapped them together for the Aussie market and called them "special edition".

Agreed. And this is the best

I think the main thing for me is that the interior materials in commodores don't need to have attention drawn to them - they're not great quality, so the OE grey suits them well - they look presentable and tidy and they do wear well in that colour. However, but put a cheap red coating on cheap surfaces and it's a recipe for disaster. The merc surfaces are much nicer up close and to touch, and the MB Tex "I can't believe its not leather" seats wear exceptionally well, so drawing attention to them works better. But you do pay a premium for it.

I'm not bagging holden's interior, just to be clear - it's not too bad for the money.

The old maserati 3200GT and the current masa GTS also look great with red interiors but it didn't suit the Ghibli interior at all.
