Hi, I have a vy 5.7L with a 2.5" catback , was thinking of getting Hi Flow Cats, This might be a dumb question but can you get these without getting extractors.
I'm after a bit more noise and the standard cats pipe sections look awfully skinny compared to my catback system that they bolt on to.
    Any comments appreciated, cheers

mate ive been told that the standard cats flow enough for a 6Ltr motor each so unless your running big numbers dont waste your money. If you want more noise just play around with your mufflers....IE either replace your centre ones with hot dogs or get rid of your rear resonator.....but youll get drone without the rear one....just a suggestion...good luck

enough isnt always what you after... sure they're are things i'd buy first but i'd still get highflow cats

if your after better noise look at a set of extractors first and then if your still not happy go high flow cats and then start messing around with the mufflers. it will be more expensive but to me its the best way to do as you get the most out of your exhaust and you also get a sound that isnt going to change if you upgrade the rest of your exhaust later

You can but I wouldnt. If you buy hi flow cats for the standard extractors, you may have to replace the cats when you get the extractors. Seeing as cats cost less than a good set of extractors....

I highly advice you on getting extractors. Pacemaker or the like.
It will make your exhaust system louder and will have a deeper tone to it. While at the same time youll feel the extra pull when u put ur foot down.

It was one of the best mods Iv done on my car. :)

I bought my extractors and got them installed for a tot of $500.
Try look for a set of extractors on eBay.

    Cheers
    Dave.
