What you are asking about doing in regards to the VIN Number is illegal......You can't put your cars VIN on another car body.
In the world of stolen cars, when you swap 1 vehicles VIN Number with another vehicles VIN Number it is referred to as rebirthing.

If your VR Clubsport is totalled beyond repair, I'm afraid to say that it is all over, well for the body it is anyway.
You can swap all your good parts over onto another VR/VS shell, but it will never be a genuine Clubsport even though the parts all came from a genuine Clubsport.....Only way to keep it genuine and legit is if the replacement body you are swapping your parts into is a genuine Clubsport shell.

What you mentioned is called rebirthing...you want to another car/shell to pass as your clubsport with it's hsv identification tags which is illegal even if you did find another shell same colour & specs.

Reshell is when go buy another car say vs v6 berlina..transfer all your clubsport gear into it's registered still basically a vs berlina on rego papers with your vr clubby engine etc

So it's either fix your shell if want to keep hsv identity or build another car with it's own identification which will be reshelled replica.

The bent support under radiator is easy fix...twisted clubsport bodyshell not so much...easier/quicker/cheaper to buy another Clubsport & transfer good bits over or just sell up & move on.

If you want to go through insurance and keep the car and it is a statutory write-off you could have a chat to them and see if they will pay you out less the cost of what they think they can get for the car at auction. Some Ins Co's will allow this others may not.
