no, but im stealing the rack off the donor car just in case.... could get lucky and only have to swap out the rack ends.

Might just need to put in a non variatronic rack. Although the VX Calais came out with variatronic too I think so maybe the LS1 pump will work with it no problems assuming you keep the wiring for it. Personally i'm pissing mine off asap coz the rack has a knock and I just don't like the feel of it. Plus I think it's the reason my power steering reservoir pressurizes so much and leaks fluid. The hard part is to figure out how to run the high pressure line from the VP rack to the LS1 pump. Make sure you keep your LS1 High Pressure line when u strip the car coz I think I remember reading u can use that but i'm not positive that it lines up with zero issues.

yeah im keeping everything, were going to try and use as much as we can off the donor car. cant see why you couldn't get a high pressure line custom made for your setup....

we're gonna be using some teflon/stainless braided 200 series hose:

not gonna lie, theyre a bit of a prick to get to work without weeping, but ive done a fair few right/left hand drive conversions using them and they work well. the impala also has it on the hydro-booster/pwr steering:

also, if youre doing a small section of high pressure (say, anything under 300mm long) its cheaper to get it made at enzed.

the only thing that will need to be confirmed is the location of the 1-way check valve. on the camaro the valve is in the rack, on VE commodore the valve is inside the low pressure return banjo bolt. one way or another, that valve MUST be in place or you get this amazing thing where the steering wheel goes BAMBAMBAMBAMBAM lock to lock at SUPER high speeds almost destroying your column... ask me how i know this? go on, ask me.

same reason i know the check valve is in the VE banjo bolt :p it happend, it scared the fk out of me, nearly destroyed a silverado steering column and dash support frame i had only tack welded together for testing and nearly broke a couple of my fingers... ahhh goods times.
