update for you....

dummy fitted the low mount setup with a sanden compressor i bought off facebook. dont think this particular compressor hookups are going to work, the lower one is right against the frame rail, not possible to screw in a pipe. will have to either get the ac shop to change the backing plate to the rear facing one or handball it back to ebay.... but all the other clearances look good.

also had to take a little chunk out of the allen groove bracket to clear the dipstick, forgot to take a pic...

even if i was putting in a briggs & straton the car would still retain ac. no bogan spec **** here mang.

got an alternative pump head to hopefully sort out the clearance problem.

headers are back. its not ceramic coating, its a kind of high temp coating. will hold up to 700 degrees C. they look more of a graphite black than a jet black in person. theyre not that scratch proof either, so ill wrap them in masking tape when we install them so they dont get too scared up (might be that the coating is still fresh too). think they turned out pretty good, $385 total with sandblasting and pick up/drop off included.

new brushes for the alternator (mitsubishi alternator for ls1) heres the ones i used. i ordered by manufacturer and dimensions. the ones i bought were for a ford transit, but were the same replacements that fit mine too. i bought them from the UK, couldnt find any aussie sellers. wasnt in a rush so didnt matter. think it worked out to being $20 all up with delivery.

melt the soldier off these 2 points and slide in and re-soldier the new ones in. have to make sure you line up the holes with the slot on the inside as you have to slip a wire in from the back to hold the brushes in place.

Good to see progress. I thought this had died a slow, agonising deah after old mate ran away.

Was Sab's trailer plate luck of the draw ?

yeah i need to keep checking **** off the list. theres no time frame to finish it, just need to keep on keeping on. i soldiered and heat shrink'd a broken wire the other day too (variotronic rack solenoid wire) but wasn't worth taking pics of. its all the little jobs that add up.

i dont get the trailer plate reference?
