Wouldn't I see water or white smoke coming out of the exhaust?

Just went to put my engine cover back on. Checked and the lvl has dropped again. I'm putting it down to a bad cap and the coolant cooling swapped the cap over from one I had in the shed. There's a difference in the two. One (the one that has been replaced) has like a rubber lip that looks like it goes down into the filler neck 5-6 mm. Where as the new cap has a rubber deal that sits on the top of the neck. Will this make any difference? They're both rated to 135kpa

Might have a LIM gasket leak. Ours was using about a liter of water a fortnight with no tell tail signs.

Agree they usually blow out the bottom and leak into the inlet of the head and out through the combustion process.
Make sure you replace with metal gaskets not the older plastic style.
