I have a VR V6 and its idling at approx 2000rpm. it used to idle ok but has steadily been getting higher, any ideas as to what could be the problem?

  4. The Idle Air Control valve is bolted to the throttle body and controls idle speed and stability, The throttle butterfly and the IAC bypass ports can clog with carbon which can directly affect idle control and idle speed, so u should pull apart ur throtle body and give it a good cleaning.

Check the throttle positioning sensor while your having a look at the IAC for defects.
