I have googled this extensively and found nothing to clear it up for me.
The Alloytec V6 High Output v Alloytec V6, what is the difference?
I have a Calais with the former.

The LY7 (high output) engines have cam phasing on exhaust and intake cams, the LEO (low output) engine only have it on the intake. May or may not be some other differences, but that's the defining one.

LY7 features have been mentioned. Further to that, the intake manifold has a variable inlet which has a motor on the back of it.
Dual exhaust.
Different tune.
Different wiring loom to suit the extra features.

Also LY7 has 4 Cam position sensors as well as the 4 Cam solenoids/actuators/phasers. They are all found on the front of the motor.

LE0 has:
• No variable inlet motor on the manifold
• Single exhaust.
• 2 Cam position sensors
• 2 cam solenoids/phasers/actuators (what ever you want to call them)
• A stamp on the build plate that says LE0
• Engine number will have LE0 on it.

LY7 has:

• Dual exhaust (on VE)

VE holden Calais wagon
For the VE calais wagon 2009 yr with LY7 engine: to change the spark plugs do you also need to change the upper manifold gasket?
