VT HBD 3.8L
Hey there,
im in the process of putting a holden 308 into a vc commo.
Tomorrow we're pulling the old 3.3L engine out and will found out what im asking. Im in dout whether the 308 and 3.3L will share the same belhousing or will we have to soure down a 308 bellhousing. The gearbox behind this will be the manual 4 speed box.

Also just curious if anyone can have a wild guess,
We plan on getting the heads ported and polished, increase the compression, put in a stage 3 cam, also change everything to do with cams, port match the intake manifold, rochestor 4 barrel carby, get the exhaust all done, and yeah.
Thats about it with the go fast bits.
How much power should we be expecting when it gets tuned properly ?

Anything we should look out for?

Thanks and trying to get it running by next weekend.

Wish us luck.

Different Bellhousing, also gearbox, tail shaft, diff is also different.

You CAN use a 6cyl box, you will need the correct bellhousing etc, and need to change the input shaft as they are different lengths. But running a 6cyl Drive train on a V8 isnt going to last very long at all.
