You need to select the correct pistons, rods and crank for your application. 304 and 308 cranks give different stroke. You'll need to select the correct pistons with the pin height you need.

Yep, as above, you have used the wrong piston and/or rod/crank combination. 308 and 304 have a slightly different stroke and different piston pin height to achieve the proper compression height with the same block deck height.

Yep my thoughts too wrong pistons for crank or vice versa.

Yep just measured conrods i have 5.700 and the ol ones 5.625 grrrr
