Hey Im just wondering what holden is asking for the V6 CAI kit. I have seen these on ebay for AU$60ish new, and on another website for NZ$135 - but my local holden dealership just quoted me NZ$61.00 for the Inlet (92053315) and NZ$128.10 for the duct (92053314). Im left wondering why the huge price difference? Anyone purchased one of these recently, or know whats going on?
I got one of the $60 jobs... Seems pretty decent. I did have to use the hairdryer trick to open the gap a little, but seems as good as the holden ones.... Save yourself the cash (or put it towards a memcal reprogram, WELL worth it) Cheers
The ones off ebay? They claim to be genuine holden parts - same as the ones the dealership has. Thats whats really confusing me....
i bought my cai from holden, its a genuine one for $85 only 3 weeks ago came with all that u have in pic above.
Did you order it as two parts, or as one? Im beginning to wonder if the CAI is just the intake as just one unit, and if the duct is another part entirely
What you see in the picture is two separate bits, the part that sits over the radiator, and the part that connects to the air box. I used the V8 one. Cost me $48 from Holden.
Right, after some serious thought I have decided that rather than going through the hassle of Importing from Aus (ebay) Il bite the bullet and get the intake part, but hopefully find a way of fabricating the duct (I dont want to pay $128 for a poxy bit of black plastic) out of pvc or something similar. Il call my local holden dismantlers first though, to see if they have any.
they are definately ripping you off that sounds like they are trying to charge u for the actual bottom part of the airbox, mine was 2 seperate parts but i was charged $85 brand new and they even had to especially order it in. i would be double checkin on that price.
I paid $49 + $8 postage for mine off eBay. It's a genuine Holden V6 one (but without the red sticker). Very good quality and both parts came with it.
