Hi all how can i tell if my Inlet manifold gaskets are worn or leaking because i have oil in my coolant but not water in my oil what would this be my gaskets or head is stuffed. but i have a slugish ice coffee look on my oil cap the size of a 5 cent coin would that mean my head is stuffed or is it because i havnt used it in a long time

Hopefully it's because you haven't used the car for some time and/or its been used for short runs which doesn't allow condensation etc trapped in the oil to escape - in bad cases you will get a milky deposit under the oil filler cap and this problem is worse in cold weather. If you are really worried about it just remove all your sparkplugs and check them for 'strange' deposits.

You're probably better off not turning it on for 5 minutes every 2 days as that will just make the problem worse - it needs to be run till it reaches operating temperature or not at all. Also if worried about the battery when car is left for some time just disconnect....it will still be charged in 5 weeks time and no harm will come to an engine that hasn't run for 5 weeks. Good Luck.
