hi guys, this is my second VE , the Holden Calais Ve 2007, my first was the Holden Commodore SV6 VE 2007. Now in my SV6 i could pair my phone to the bluetooth no problem and it worked perfectly, now in my calais, i can pair my phone to the bluetooth but when i try to make a call with the phone button on the steering wheel, it does start up voice call on my phone but the radio doesnt mute and it doesnt say VOICE IN, and you cant hear anything on the speakers, now i know that the phone is connected properly but its just not switching the radio to VOICE in mode, even when it connects to the phone VOICE in does not appear, My phone is a Nokia N95 8GB model does anyone have any solutions to this, thank you
Sorry Jaime....have a Calais VE too...and can pair the phone to it easily...the 'voice' message comes on over the screen and it goes silent .
I used to have an N95 paired to my ute - don't recall having a problem with it. Have a blackberry paired to it now - no problems with the connection - LOTS of problems with the crap phone but that's another story! lol I'd run it back to your dealer and ask the question. Can't hurt. If it's a software fault they'll fix it for free. Otherwise, try deleting the BT contact from your phone and start from scratch with the pairing. I had to do that once with the Missus' phone but just ended up axing that one altogether.
problem will be with the line out signal to the stereo could be bluetooth unit or just a connection or worst case the stereo
Interesting issue this. I have a friend with a 09 Caprice and he and his wife both have the same problem exactly with their phones. They pair to the system no problem but at no stage will it ever say 'Voice In' on the headunit's screen. To make matters worse in testing. Pressing the phone button on the steering wheel makes the phone show the message 'Speak Now' shortly followed by 'No Match Found'. Same with receiving a call, when I called them and the phone was ringing, only the phone rang and nothing out the speakers, pressing the phone button on the steering wheel actually answers the call however you need to use the phones mic and speakers to say or hear anything. Interesting thing is though his wifes phone is a Nokia 6100, the same model I used to own when I had the SV6 and it worked perfectly.
I have a 06 berlina mine does'nt even connect ? But I think its because a after market one has been put in. Have all the diagrams in the car.
Jamierawr88, I just bought an 07 Calais also and am experiencing the exact same problem. Can you please tell me what you did to fix the problem? And the cost? Cheers mate!
Might sound stupid but have you tried turning the phone on and off? Sometimes it can be the phone and a simple reset will help/ Had a problem with my N73 not connecting properly with an 09 berlina. It would connect then after a short time would disconnect. The answer...... I went and got a new phone, lol. It was due any way but it gave the sh!ts so I upgraded. I now use a 5800 and it's fine. Almost due for a new phone again.
hers my 2cents, and hope it helps. have Calais V 08 and running Bluetooth fine with my phone. - i would defintely try a reboot of the phone, moreover hard reboot take out the battery for say 5-10sec, and restart phone(batt in of course) - connect(pair) your phone as per manual instrauctions(dont recall of top of my head) - to pair, you also need to either have key turned to (on or acc) , or car started ofcourse. - manually switch on blue tooth in your phone as and when u want to use in car. or leave fulltime on, but will chew yr phone battery life. - assuming car key is turnned to ON or engine istarted, it would normally search and find the phone. sometimes taking 5-10-20sec varies - a way to also force the so called search and connect to an already paired phone( is press the Phone button on steering wheel. you get on screen the "voice in" text and also a chime or beep sound. - also assuming you have connected, and not on a call, and if you press the phone button on wheel, you should expect to see following: music turns off, the "voice in" appear on screen, and also the light hissing sound heard through the speakers, until you hang up the call(not call in this instance just connected) oh and assume you know that u cannot access your contacts , or initiate make a call with bluetooth system of Series 1 VE ( unfortunately) you need to pickup phone make call and then the bluetoothe system kicks in auto and takes over, then u can hang up by the phone button on steering wheel. hope this helps , in knowing what is normal operation and what to expect. defintely try reboot of phone again by taking battery out
Off topic, but you definitely can make a call hands free, so long as your phone is set up for voice dialling. When you press the phone button on the wheel it will automatically link to your phone's voice dial function and prompt you to call whoever - or whatever individual phone's voice prompts are.
yeah guys I have used 2 different phones, and turned on/off and disabled enable bluetooth etc. And can connect to a VE commodore international no probs.
I just tried to set up my Nokia N95 to a VE SV6 series 2, no go, I tried one of the suggestions from above, "remove the battery and restart the phone" what a great simple and quick idea. saved me alot of time and nolw everything is set up. Thankyou
It sounds like a strange idea to start with but it works. Did it with my uncles motorola and aftermarket bluetooth kit. He had it connect and everything fine for ages then one day wouldn't work. I mucked around with a few things still couldn't get it to work. Then I thought I'd restart the phone (not sure what made me think of doing that) and it worked. Such a simple fix.
the phone is connecting with the car fine but the stereo is not connecting with the cars bluetooth system. The phone-car connection appears fine. The issue I think is the connection between bluetooth and headunit.
Hey dunno if anyone cares but swallowed my pride and took it to zupps repair. $150 just to tell me its ####ed (after I told them it was ####ed) then another $380 to replace the faulty bluetooth module. Just in case someone in the future wants to know what the costs are. Thanks for the help any ways.
