Hello it's me again , I now have an issue with my red commodore where on the water pump below the thermostat there's a pool of oil sitting there
I also had an issue Thursday night where driving along the highway my car went from normal temp to Max and started beeping to say it was overheating but went back to normal after a minute when I pulled over to check it
The car is also now leaking on the seal to the thermostat housing
Has my thermostat failed ? It should still be under warranty from when it was fixed not long ago

My temp gauge once went from normal temp to max in the blink of an eye, but by the time I pulled over it had gone back to normal and has never done it again since, so it is possible that it's just a freak standalone incident.

Was a similar situation to mine but its not the only indicator pointing to a bigger issue , the mystery leak being the other

And the -
car is ?
K/m’s are ?
Any modifications ?,
Any recent work repairs ?,
Repairs we’re done when ?, as it may not be in warranty,

A lot of places give you a 7x7x7 warranty, if your lucky !

7 Day, 7 Hours, or 7 minutes, what ever comes first.

Possibly the LIM gaskets need replacing

I’m tipping it’s the LIM gaskets/seals.
Possibly it’s time to replace them being a 2000 model, and with 340,000 k/s,

I forgot to ask,
Is there any sign of a milkshake,
or carrot shake in the radiator ?

Rad and oil are fine for what they'd be at a 340,000 service it does always smell like burned coolant(sweet smell) and has for a lot of years even before I owned it
