    Hi all

    One of the MSE's had sold late yesterday, they have a buyer coming in today to do a deal on the other MSE. The Director is build number "078", the colour is heron white and the price is $85,000. I have just passed on this info to 2 friends that are also looking to buy a Director.

    If you want to buy one of these cars call Mantello and speak to Adrian, seems good to deal with.

    I snapped up the auto Motorsport yesterday.

    I had wanted the Motorsport but was looking for a daily driver so went for an SSV Redline wagon to replace my Calais wagon MY10. Later I decided to keep the Calais as a daily driver so wanted to see if I could swap my order over to a Motorsport.

    Dropped in Monday to see Adrian about it and he said it's your lucky day as they had just decided to put their last two up for grabs and he was happy to swap my deal over. What a top bloke, can't thank him enough.

    Even so that's $12k more than the average price of the Motorsport. It's simply supply and demand and plenty of people seem willing to pay the extra to secure 1 of 300 Directors.

    Back on release date, 75k drive away was the inflated going rate, some dealers didn't go crazy on dd and some director guys got one for 72-73k
    Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking anyone that buys at current prices, you are getting an amazing, limited car, just amazed at the profiteering that some dealers are attempting.

    Then taxes must have changed because my contract has the vehicle price at $64k with just under $2k dealer delivery and he rest is registered, luxury tax, stamp duty and gst. As far as I know the auto version was $63,990 when it was released so I fail to see any profiteering as my dealer is taking less than what I would have expected under the circumstances.

    The taxes haven't gone up that much, what was the drive away price for your MSE?

    $80k exactly.
    Either way I'm happy with the purchase and given these are running out, I'm happy to pay a little more to secure one.

    Btw there's a manual Motorsport on Carsales and they're asking $85k plus on roads

    Whilst on the topic of available LE's, as I posted on the 8th, " Dealer has a director in soag for 82K DA and two auto motorsports, one Heron and one Phantom for $75.4K DA". These are located at Brighton Holden in Melb. not sure if still available, ask for Kay if interested, she's good value.

    $80-$85k for a MSE or a Director, you are getting screwed BIG time by the dealer and just adding to his profit margin. Why do you think that dealer has so many still for sale? because he is way over priced. The RRP is just that, Regular Retail Price. Its the starting point before adding on all the extras like stamp duty, rego, dealer delivery, LCT, factory extras. To rego a automatic MSE/Director in NSW with the starting point being $64k costs $2700 that includes stamp duty, rego and all other fees, then add on the dealer delivery which you say is another $2000 which brings the total to 68,700. Then add on any LCT that is applicable and any factory options or dealer options and the price should be somewhere between $71-$73k. If the dealer is greedy he might want to make a few bucks more so the price will probably go up to around $75k. If you have paid $85k you must have more money than sense, cos you just lost $10k!

    The price of anything is always determined by the buyer, if the buyer deems it too high he will walk away - his choice. The seller can ask $70k, $90K or $125k (as we all saw one Director advertised for a while ago - I wonder if it sold?). Until the buyer considers, in his opinion, he is getting value for his hard earned cash the seller has no deal. When both agree that becomes the value for both parties, others may and do disagree. That said, $125k for a Director, I won't sell my yet to be delivered Director for that. Give me $200k - deal!!

    So this is the breakdown:
    64225.70 vehicle cost
    922.20 vicroads
    1995 dealer delivery
    3910.40 stamp duty (calculated on 75,200)
    6622.07 gst
    2324.63 lct
    80,000 total price

    Vehicle price is only $235 above the rrp. Or am I missing something here?
