    Hey everyone.

Thought that I would do a write up on the service lamp re-set procedures.

This write up will cover VT/VX/VU/VY/VZ/VE Commodores and WH/WK/WL/WM Statesman/Caprice.

    VT/VX/VU/WH Series.
    1. With the ignition OFF, press and hold the up and down buttons of the Trip Computer.
    2. Turn the ignition ON while holding down both buttons.
    3. Keep both buttons held in for 3 seconds approx. and then release both buttons.
    4. Press and release the 'Mode' button (The service due screen appears on the display).
    5. Press and hold both the up and down buttons for 3 seconds approx. until a beep is heard.
    6. Release both buttons.
    7. Switch ignition OFF.

    VY/WK Series.
    1. With the ignition OFF, press and hold the up and down buttons of the Trip Computer.
    2. Turn the ignition ON while holding down both buttons.
    3. Keep both buttons held in for 3 seconds approx..
    4. The service menu appears and asks if you want to reset.
    5. Press and hold the 'Set' button for more than 3 seconds.
    6. Press the "Mode" button.
    7. Switch the ignition OFF.

    VZ/WL Series.
    1. With the ignition OFF, press and hold the up and down buttons of the Trip Computer.
    2. Turn the ignition ON while holding down both buttons.
    3. Keep both buttons held in for 3 seconds approx..
    4. Press and hold the 'Set' button for more than 3 seconds or until an audible alarm is heard.
    5. The display shows - SERVICE RESET NO ITEMS.
    6. Press and hold the 'Set' button for more than 3 seconds - the SERVICE OIL LAMP will extinguish.
    7. Turn the ignition OFFm then ON again.

    VE/WM Series.
    1. Switch ignition OFF.
    2. Press and hold the 'Trip' button.
    3. Switch ignition ON.
    4. Release the 'Trip' button to enter the Service Reset Screen.
    5. Once in the Service Reset Screen, press and hold the 'Enter' switch for 3 to 5 seconds (a beep will sound as confirmation of reset).
    6. Switch ignition OFF.
    7. Should the service reminder come back on when the vehicle starts, repeat the procedure.

    NOTE!
Should the service be overdue, the Multi Function Display will show a flashing icon for up to 10 seconds whenever the ignition is switched on or off (this will continue until the Service Reminder Reset Procedure is carried out).
Should the service be overdue for more than 5,000 km, the event will be permanently logged in the Instrument Cluster memory.

Took me some time to write this up so I hope this information helps :)

Just a suggestion, but could the mods make this a sticky? As it covers the whole range of Commodore/Statesman that came out with a service lamp. I will also keep it updated in the future when newer Commodores are released and have different procedures so its all on one thread.

    Cheers,
    Ben

I saved it to favorites and will use.
Once you reset it won`t come back on till next service due?

    Thats correct mate.

The service reminder appears 1000kms before the service is due, and then stays on until it has been reset.

    Example.

If your car is coming up to the 150,000km service, the service reminder will come up at 149,000kms.

I noticed with my WH Statesman, the service reminder comes up, and once you go over say 150,000kms, the service reminder starts flashing.

Glad this thread has helped some people :) I thought it was a good idea to make one thread covering all models.

I've found on the VZ if the car had an error code stored in memory the service reminder will not reset until the codes are cleared.

    Anyone else find this?

I'm having trouble getting the service vehicle soon of on my dash on my vz, the steps described here doesn't seem to be working, I have tried a few times and I can't get it to work, can you clarify the exact steps as to what to do again please, as I think I might be getting confused between steps 3 and 4....do I keep the up and down arrows held in when holding down the set button once ignition is turned on?

Not sure how it could be explained more clearly. And yes you have to hold the up and down buttons on as you turn the ignition on.

I tried it for my friends vz, but didn't reset it, so that means they have an error to be datalogged and cleared before it can be reset?
