Holy ****!!!!

ALWAYS CONNECT NEGATIVE LAST.

DISCONNECT NEGATIVE FIRST.

You hopefully will need to replace the fusible links on the battery terminal. Now if you are really lucky that fixes the problem. However, that sort of thing can cook modules in the car. They talk to each other across a network called a CANbus network. Your car is a computer network on wheels. Finding faults in those is where the butt hurt starts.

You can’t help stupid. Probably ended up frying all the computer modules in the car by changing the battery while the car was running. I would say it’s a well deserved result but the Commodore doesn’t deserve to die because of its owner’s stupidity.

If the engine was running or ignition on, you may have electronically written off the car depending on its insured value.

Again, best outcome is the fusible link is blown and you have a good day.
