hi all,
I have a holden commodore vf 2013 that has done 117000kms. Recently, the engine has had multiple misfires and the engine code P0300 appears on the scanner. I changed the spark plugs and ignition coils but the code still appears and the engine shakes. any ideas on how to fix this issue?

thank you.

P030 is multiple cylinder misfires.

As VF V8’s are known to have faulty fuel injectors, it may be that there are multiple failures impacting multiple cylinders rather than the more usual single injector failure occurring. In any case it’s a known issue with V8’s and impacted cars get all new injectors. Read the 7 pages of this relevant thread.

So, if your ride is a V8, take the car to a dealer and ask for them to check this known fault. If so all injectors should be replaced even if your car is outside warranty. as it’s a known issue.

@Lamis One possible cause of hard starting and rough running in high-mileage direct injection engines (such as Holden's SIDI V6) is carbon build-up on the back of the inlet valves. On a port-injected engine, the detergent properties of the incoming fuel on the back of the valves washes away any carbon, but this doesn't happen with direct injection as the fuel is squirted directly into the cylinder and not onto the valves. Carbon build-up normally doesn't become a problem until an engine has done 100,000+ km, but when it does, it can show up as a multiple misfire fault code.

Another possibility is one or more dirty or faulty injectors, but this is relatively rare on the V6 engine compared to the known issue with the V8s.
