It’s annoying enough that HCC don’t call back when they promise to do so but it’s absolutely infuriating when they act as a brick wall and and keep you from talking to the decision makers.

This type of behaviour is not restricted to HCC.

Pretty much any large business has the same mantra these days. Try dealing with mining companies.

What Holden model is being discussed here?
Which 2014 Holden model had an airbag recall?
An incorrect spare fitted on the production line? An Australian production line?
Which model Holden has a spare wheel that 'retails' for $138???

Haven't had to deal with HCC. Are they in the Philippines and better than Telstra ?
HCC are local aussie guys and gals but the processes they are required to follow is pathetic and is the crux of the problem o_O Are they better than Telstra, probably on par, though thankfully they don’t call you to spruik some great new deals

Some other car manufacturers are better and at least have an escalation process a customer can avail a themselves to ;) HCC, nada  And retail customers don’t deal with mining companies so don’t understand the relevance when discussing auto makers lacking customer support o_O

*The following day, my mum contacted the original dealer, who acknowledged the fault and told her to bring the car in to change it over
*Problem is, car came with wife when we moved up to QLD
*Original dealer said no problem, take it to local dealer and they can change it over and recover cost through head office...
Turned out to be a big problem dealing with HCC :(

Under ACL, a seller can’t fob you off to the manufacturer to fix a failure in a product they sold. So you could have reminded them they they sold the car and have the obligation to fix the issue under ACL statutory warranty. You could have then asked the selling dealer to courier a new wheel to the cars current location with some return shipping authorisation for the faulty wheel (if they want it back). Then, if the selling dealer chooses, they can handle any back office issues with Holden to recover their loss, if they are up to it...

But isn’t hindsight a great thing

General corporate ignorance / arrogance.....too ignorant to know / too arrogant to care.....no fcuks given from people etc etc.

Doesn't matter whether retail or not.....the sh!t attitude culture is everywhere.

Apologies, I should have clarified that it is a Cruze, and that the spare is a space saver type

I did also mention to HCC that I spoke to three separate spare parts staff at three different dealers and after explaining the situation all three said that it was quite plausible because the wheel design did change a month prior to the build of this car (Oct 2013)

Have had my first experience of Holdens so cslled Customer Care. Have a 2018 Calais V. At 103,000kms transmission failed. Dealership took up my case and got transmission replaced under warranty. Three days ago without warning what is now second transmission failed at 59,000 ks. Dealership put in claim to Holden CC which was declined due 50k warranty period expired. For the same car to have two transmision fails is unacceptable and clearly there are ssues with the Transmissions and they are not fit for purpose. Clesrly Holden no longer care about their reputation and for the Consumer it is clearly suck it up. About to take issue up with Commerce Commission and will likely end up with the Disputes Tribunal

Power to you. Let’s not forget “they” say the transmissions are “sealed for life”. Which we know is rubbish.

Someone posted here a few days ago about gearbox failures and what Holden had to say about it.

Heaps of people having issues with the ZB transmissions. Hope it works out for you.
