They also use to make washing machines my grandfather used to work for frigidaire in Dandenong my grandmothers frigidaire washing machine lasted her 48 years if we could of found another pump it would of lasted her for her life she died a within a year of the washing machine. All of my family's fridigair fridges would of been thrown away when i was a kid 30 years ago. I threw a few old frigidaire compressors away a couple of years ago that had probably never been used no one wanted them.
