Nah decisions like this get made all the time. Makes no difference to GM profit, makes near-immeasurable difference to Holden loss, but Manager D from Subsection 427-D in Procuring gets to show they saved 37.2% on costs this year and makes Bonus.

^^^^ fixed it for you. :p

I read somewhere that part of the monies from this auction is getting donated to charity but haven’t found the link to that statement...

Either way I think Holden should donate historical cars to a museum to capture Australian car building heritage that was recently pissed away by our government

Seems a bit odd, clearing out only 8 of the presumably much bigger collection?

As above, might as well donate to a museum, especially the actually unique competition/endurance cars.
Does anyone really care about the first ever VF?

Other than the VC I could not care less about any of them...

LOL that reason sounds like a load of BS.[/QUOTE]

Yeah, bad time to be selling the family farm no matter how they justify it,sends a bad message at a bad time with some Journo's predicting GMH will withdraw from the Oz/NZ market completely.

How did Ordinski's VR get away with the Driving lights on the Bonnet?,i did a bit of Rallying back then and you weren't allowed extra driving lights to sit above the level of the standard headlights.

Maybe not now, but who knows in the future. Some of the younger generation might be interested

I'd like to try and count myself amongst those!

If it were a "launch edition" (like the new Alpine or others have done) where its a top spec car with special options as the first run, then maybe it would retain some attraction. However it looks like a standard evoke, same as 10000 others.

Nothing, they won't exist. Dunno how much I'd want to put down ~$150k on a Corvette, regardless of any guarantees of Chevrolets being supported, not when I know how cheap new Opels were after they bailed.
