Hey All,

Upgrading my sound system soon in my S2 SV6, I was wondering how similar the S1 and S2 harness plugs are. For example check out this thread and you can see what the user has done, purchased an aftermarket harness and just used a portion of it. Saves splicing into the wires:

I wish to do the same, Will that same plug work? All I need is the 'X1' section of it. I had a look at the CarModder Diagrams and they look very similar.

Here is the mentioned plug. Only difference is design of the X1...but will it work?

That Beastie will work, however you will need to re-pin it so as the required wiring changes are made for the IQ unit.

Here is the wiring information for Series I Radios
www.carmodder.com • Factory Head Unit / Stereo Wiring Information for the Holden VE Commodore

And here is the wiring information for Series II (IQ Units)
www.carmodder.com • Holden IQ Wiring Information for the Holden VE II Commodore

I have also been working on a doc on fitting an IQ unit to a Series I model VE
www.carmodder.com • Abarthing for the Abarth 500 500

Its a work in progress (Lots of stuff to cover in this one).
I think all that is missing in this is the wiring conversion information.

Hope this helps ?

Thanks Zerone_V.

I printed a bunch of info out and got my head around the main connector. Am I correct with the white connector (yellow numbering) in your pics being X3?

The big mystery seems to be sourcing anything DIY connector related for the S2 IQ reverse camera . I found the TTI part numbers for the S1 HU, but it's a totally different connector. Is this connector able to be pieced together?
