Hey guys I have a holden vz as in title and pretty much had it since 2009, it’s a 2004 model, almost hitting over 300,000kms. Iv never had timing chain done, car still runs well but as I’m on my green Ps, I was wondering if it’s possible to just maintain and buy new parts for the motor to keep it running? I enjoy the car and my idea for it is to make it look clean and fix whatever needs to be fixed over the years, nice wheels, new paint, interior and all, eventually a V8, supercharged or even a turbo but was wondering even if I did fix the necessary parts in the engine, could it still blow up on me considering the KMS it’s done!

Cheers!

It all comes down to your Right Foot !
It its maintained and driven correctly, you should get another 200,000 k/s from it,

Apart from the usual serviceable items that will need to be repaired,
As for Timing chains, again serviceable items that will wear out in time,
Where they will last longer if the engine is maintained correctly.
