Rear mains leaks. Sump leaks worth looking for.

Listen for hydraulic lifter noise.

Look for lag on the 3-2 downshift if it has the 6 speed auto

Fuel Pump failure at approx 160,000 k's
Front Struts approx 160,000 k's, again depends upon previous owner,
Service History, either Stealer or Personal, at lease you have a record of what is done.

As for me, everything I do to ANY to our past and present cars,
Its all recorded on a spread sheet, [as I have created a spread sheet for every Car we have purchased]
And a copy has always been handed to the prospective buyer when selling,
so they can see its been maintained at a much better level then a dealer,
so its a legit sale,
So who ever buys our cars, are getting a Great Car with all the issues fixed and serviced more then a dealer schedule,
so they don't have to spend the extra cash after the purchase.

IMHO, I would suggest, and if you could afford a Series 2, I would do that, much younger car,
Series 1's they realised various issues,
and rectified them in the Series 2's,
I had a 2009 Series 1 Berlina V6 3.0L, sold it at the end of its lease, due to a few on going issues,
and purchased the 2012 VE Calais, Series 2 6.0L Wagon in June 2013 [10 months old],
ex GM Car at 17,000 k/m, and its just clocked over 184,000 k/s,
the rest is history.
