Hey guys got a interesting one here I think..
soo I brought this Holden really like not gonna lie however seller told me speedo doesn't work fair enough is has a short shifter needs a wheel alignment also wats strange is whe I start the car the dash first starts by saying hsv I was like okay pretty strange it's just a ecotec v6 on the highway 5th gear rpm is 3000 feels like it needs a 6th gear or maybe it's just the way it is cause I think it's got a pop crackle rune he didn't say that on ad but clearly it has might upload some videos aswell if this thread gets anywhere buy anyways sounds pretty loud aswell thinks it's straight through the middle with hotdog exhaust but other then the strange hsv on digital dash the highway 3000rpm at 110kms and $3500 later I ended up getting it I don't mind it, it's gonna get me to work I'll get her where she needs to be after time

2002 VY L67 Calais Sedan, 2012 VE L77 Calais Wagon
The ratio of the diff is a bit unusual for a sedan,
Where as in my Adventra (and others) the diff ratios are 3.46:1,
being a auto 5 speed box,
@ 100km/h, the taco indicates approx 2,100 rpm,
@ 110km/h it indicates approx 2,300rpm,
Where as you is indicating 3,000rpm @ 110km/h,

I’m tipping it has a lower diff ratio, and other various accessories that is used for burnouts/drifting,
As you said it had fans on a switch, and a short shifter.
You get my drift ? (No pun intended)

and I think it's pop and crackle tune aswell haha she's not bad I don't mind her and the hsv piping up on dash apparently is a cosmetic thing they do where pops up with hsv instead of the original Holden sevice check

The Getrag 260 has different ratio's, in particular the 5th gear ratio is shorter than the 4L60e and T5 (0.7 and 0.72 respectively). SEe

Gear ratios (overall):
I3.83 (11.8)
II2.2 (6.78)
III1.4 (4.31)
IV1 (3.08)
V0.81 (2.49)

So it will rev higher in 5th gear than the standard auto.

This a comparison from 3.08 to 3.46 diff gears with Getrag gear ratio's,

But then, maybe the dash hasn't been corrected for the diff ratio change so that will be reading wrong. Verify your speed with a GPS device, if it has a 3.46 diff you should be doing just over 2500rpm @110km/h

The missing panel above the radiator won't help with cooling either.

Yes sorry it's been a while so I had to tighten the exhaust he had the maf sensor cord just sitting in front of the pod filter so I inclosed it now yeah she it's at 2500 at 110 got this go's speedo thing at super cheap and yeah I don't think they recalibrated the speed after the lsd she's not to bad now thank you guys heaps and I also found out that she also has a older holden 5speed manual gearbox instead of the transmission for this model

The HSV thing on the cluster isn’t anything special. It’s something that can be done by a number of businesses. You could have a lot of things come up in place of it, provided it fits within the graphics parameters.

The build plate on the radiator support will have the transmission type stamped in it, so depending on the code it has, verses what is in it now, you’ll know if the gearbox has been swapped.
