Hi Guys

I have a 2002 Holden VY ute
My stereo is a Kenwood DDX5015DAB. Double din stereo

For the connections i used a
Holden to ISO connector
ISO to Kenwood connector

The problem is when I turn the ignition off, the radio resets. So when you turn it back on again it comes up with initial setup and the clock resets.

Tomorrow I will be able to take it out and check the connections with a multimeter.

Is this a common thing or is it most likely just a problem with my harness set up?

Thanks

I'd say it is your wiring harness set up.
See below wiring diagram.

The RED wire is main power and connected through: a fuse > ignition switch > fuse box > battery

The YELLOW wire is used for system memory and is connected through: a fuse > fuse box > battery

So the YELLOW wire (on the Kenwood harness) requires 12V supply all the time

What he said! I seem to recall somewhere with these connectors, you have to swap the red and yellow wires around

Thanks for the reply, I took it out and looked at it today and It turned out that I had the constant and switched power around the wrong way, change it an now it works perfectly.

Thanks for the help
