Holden wb tacho

The tacho in my wb v8 ute has stopped working
It was intermittent before it stopped completely
I’ve checked the connection at the coil
It’s ok and the wire to the dash is ok
All the other guages work
What else can I check?

Continuity with heat?
The tacho itself might be faulty.

they can have issues in the tacho itself should be repairable, on the odd occasion a new c/b is needed
