Holden wb tacho

The tacho in my wb v8 ute has stopped working
It was intermittent before it stopped completely
I’ve checked the connection at the coil
It’s ok and the wire to the dash is ok
All the other guages work
What else can I check?

Continuity with heat?
The tacho itself might be faulty.

they can have issues in the tacho itself should be repairable, on the odd occasion a new c/b is needed

The tacho checks out ok, thought the issue might be in the harness plug socket but I’ve noticed the power wire piggybacks off the tacho and goes to the temp/oil/battery/fuel guages and they all work
So I’m at loss as to what to look for now

does the tacho power go to the pink power wire at the gauges ? if u have tried to tighten then nuts on the bolts connection at the back of the tacho that can sometimes fix but if not may have internal issue

Yes, pink wire comes from fuse box up to harness connector then to the back of the tacho
Then it goes from the tacho terminal to the cluster
The fuel/oil/temp/battery all work

Update to this
Tacho now works
Took Ute for a drive and gave it a big rev
Now the tacho works
Weird?

might have just had metal filings in the system which can stop the movement, if it catches again might stop working till its fixed properly
