<!-- Split page --> <!-- Lead Content Panel --> HOLDEN will more than triple V6 engine output in Melbourne in a multi-million dollar deal to sell its engines to China.
The company is expected to increase production from 6000 engines a year to 20,000 in the next four years.
The engines will go to Shanghai General Motors, a joint venture partnership between General Motors and the Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp.
They are expected to be used in a range of GM China cars, including the Buick Park Avenue, a model based on the Holden Statesman.

It wont happen. Ive been to china many times. no engines over 3.0 are allowed, except some with exceptions such as mercedes or the odd beamer. It would have to be significantly downsized by holden before they ship it over. There is no room on the roads in China for a good powered car.
