hot warning came on!

    Hey all while i was driving yesturday where the ks are on the digital display the word `hot came on with a beeping sound i then noticed temp gauge go on hot so i pulled over and stopped the car thinking car overheated so i waited for car to cool down and checked the coolant level and it was ok so i started the car and everything was ok why did the car decide to do that???

    Hey, It could be a few things.
    1 - check the seal on the radiator cap, if this is stuffed then this will cause this.
    2 - water pump, on its way out (not sure)
    3- Make sure the water is topped up as much as possible, even if its slight low it can cause all sorts of problems.

    i had the same problem with mine a few years back. it turned out to be the radiator cap seal as said before. for about $20 its worth a try:thumbsup:

    yeh supposedly vt/vx's have thermostat's that tend to stick closed or some****
    mine did this once then didnt do it again for about 4 months then started to do it everyday as they tend to play up.

    Check your hoses,find out if there are any small leaks present.
