What do you mean by wire up the relay to get the climate control to work? Was it in the car and stopped working - or are you fitting climate to your car?

He might be referring to the resistor. His car is a VN Calais so it would have climate air with the old style resistor fitted. Perhaps he's by-passed it because it had carked it?

Did you try and swap a relay with the horn relay?

Hi Tim

I don't know if this is the solution to your problem, but the resistor is located underneath the plastic trim that covers the wiper linkage, which you can see when you open the bonnet.

There was a recent thread about replacing the resistor on the VN-VR models. Have a look for it, it came complete with photos so it was easy to follow. Much easier than trying to describe what to do here.

LP Check Relay is at fault. Swap it with a known good one then see how you go.

So you have just installed the climate into your VN Calais.

Did you swap the main car loom as well?
