Guys, just a note, please keep the illegal/irresponsible behavior suggestions to a minimum.

Any such talk or suggestion just makes you look as bad as the thieves themselves and could land you in alot more trouble than it is worth.

Whilst justcommodores does not condone such behaviour, we are all for protecting each others property, just legally.

Sensible, responsible suggestions only, otherwise the thread is closed.

if your concerned about thieves round your area, have a read of this thread.. awesome idea, and can be very customised to suit ur parking situation.

as added protection other than tilt sensors, this can help protect ur car, aswell as rims!

I does pay to be careful when dealing with criminals. I was watching the news last tuesday and it showed the latest road fatality. A man riding a stolen motorcycle was killed when he was run over by a car. The person driving the car was the owner of the motorcycle, and they had police there saying that the driver of the car could be facing murder charges. Then they went on to interview the motorcycle thieve's family who were saying what a lovely lad he was and everything. It almost made me sick how the police and media took the side of the thieving bastard and made it look like the owner of the motorcycle was a bad person.

I got a set of HSV locknuts on my rims as they are a bit smaller than the standard Holden ones i could still slip the little silver nut cover back over them. Also each one is unique so make sure you keep the code that comes with them incase you loose the key as a new one will have to be ordered and made for you.

In response to tilt sensors affecting your factory alarm the answer is no.
I had my factory "alarm" upgraded to a battery backup device with tilt sensors/boot/bonnet protection/glass smashing/battery disconection ect.. and internal infared sensors, cost approx $500. They program it so that you still only use your original Holden key and dont have another annoying keyring/button to press. Shop around as Rhino do tend to rip you off in that department. I went with Focus Audio/Alarms who do the local Holden and Ford Dealership upgrades near me.
If i kick my tyre with the alarm on it goes off ( adjustable if you dont want it that sensative) If i leave my window down and stick my arm or head in it goes off as well.
Also i got a discount on my insurance when i informed them.

    Hope that helps..

Get the Key Type Lock Nuts, put one on each wheel and use a normal lock nut on each wheel too.
