im trying to disconnect my transmission from my engine but those bolts are almost impossible to get to. i managed one at the bottom but have 5 left. is there a different method to this??? cheers. any info asap wood be sweeeet
disconnect the diff and undo all the supports for the tranny and put a jack under the tranny so the tranny is lower and resting on the jack so you have more room to get your hands in
What odyssey said, but I also used a heap of extension bars and laid them along the top of the box far enough back to get the ratchet to work. I think I needed to use a uni joint on one of them. Reaper
i managed to disconnect the transmission i just undid the engine mount arm thingy under it and got the crane on the engine and moved it forward enough to reach and undo the bolts now i just got to undo my convertor inside and bang engines out soon
Yep, this is what i do, especially for the top 2 bolts. A stiffer uni joint is good to stop it going the flop on you. Be prepared to get covered in gearbox oil!
i just changed my auto, best way i found is take off extractors/pipes and all the intake up tioo the manifold, then you can reach em all either from under or over
