Im finally getting around to putting my stereo in so I have to remove everything, but I got stuck on one thing and that's disconnecting the PWR button wiring. Theres two white things stuck together but I can't for the life of me figure out how to take the two apart. =/ Is there any special way to do it, like squeezing one end (I did try that)? Or am I just stupid.

when your removing the white trans surround, unscrew the button, pull it out abit, push the button in and slide it through the hole. Thats all you have to do.
There should be no need to disconnect the PWR button. I think most of us who have installed a new head unit would not have needed to have touched it.
Thanks man that worked! As I said using the guide, theres probably stuff that doesnt need to get done but I dont mind, plus it gives me a chance to give it a good clean. Another problem I'm having now: # Disconnect 2 pin LED wiring by squeezing the female plug at the sides and pulling the male section away from it. Remove other wiring connected to any switches attached to the black stereo surround (such as antenna controls). This is the part for the alarm light (im guessing ) and its another one of those pull apart things like the PWR button. So Instead of spending 20 minuites hurting my fingers I pushed out the black alarm box thing and then I couldnt figure out any way to fit it back through the hole... Anyone know what to do? Also had no idea how to do the parts in bold. I fail at this lol. # Open glovebox and remove black plastic pin from inside glovebox on right hand side of the glovebox by using a large flat blade screwdriver and twisting the blade behind the pin to pry it out. # Drop fuse cover panel (beneith steering wheel column) by turning 3x plasic clips 90' using the vehicles ignition key. # Remove black plastic pin from the left hand lower corner of the fuse cover panel by using a large flat blade screwdriver and twisting the blade behind the pin to pry it out.
ok, well inside your glovebox right at the back in the corner (right hand side) theres like a little flat black piece of plastic sticking out that dsnt look right, its actually a pin, you need to get a screwdriver (flat) and stick it inbetween the glovbox wall and the black piece and pry it out, that way you can then remove the glovebox compartment. unsure wat the other thing was tho lol.
Yep it worked, thanks bud. And to explain the alarm bit further I'll post some pics of what I'm having trouble with. Thats the thing I'm talking about trying to get out. Thats the wire that the instructions tell me to get apart, but I cant seem to do it. So I tried a different route, by pulling that thing out but then couldnt find a way to fit it back through, so I dont think thats the way to do it.
That connector should definitely unplug, maybe more force is required. Some times a bit of heat from a hair drier can unstick things.
Yeah it came undone. Got my next door neighbour to do it im too weak. XD well I've pulled it all apart now, gotten the deck out and now I realise that the plug doesnt fit my new player... So I have to go to get it done professionally to get the wiring changed. grr
You should be able to buy adapters from repco or supercheap i think. Shouldn't really need to throw money at someone to install it for you. If you google the eurovox you should get a wiring diagram and simply swap around the wires on your head unit using the guide that comes with your head unit. Easy enough if you have basic solder skills. Ive heard a few too many stories of dodgy installations by people at autobarn and such.
installing a stereo is never a straight plug in and go... it always invovles cutting an re connecting wires... wiring diagram would have came with the head unit.. just follow that its simple... i wouldnt go paying someone to do it.
Thanks for your help guys. I went to super cheap and bought a "wiring harness" I'm not really sure how it works yet. (the people at super cheap didnt either... big help they are.) What Im thinking is I plug one end into the Commodores connector and then put the wires into the little holes in the connector. Has anyone ever used a wiring harness before? I've never had any expereince with soldering and I dont know anyone that can do it so I think this is the next best thing to do.

Thanks again Dufus. Im a bit of a noob at this sorry, I'm guessing you have to take the rubber or whatever it is at the end of the wire off (the colored part) how is the best way to do this? Scissors or is that unsafe?
This connector plugs into the standard wiring loom in your car, so you do not have to cut anything. You then connect it to the wiring of the head unit, this will be pretty self explanatory.
