thanks man that helped heaps
mine live axle then cause i changed my tire today and the springs where straight up as in the pic

OK now whats better LOL live axel OR irs hahaha

i think that's a jag rear end from a rod? pretty sure irs springs sit at a similar angle to live axle. the tell will be to get low and look from the back of the car.

if the diff housing (in the middle) slopes into the axle bits and the whole thing is a big solid beam, then it's live axle.

i can't find a good picture of IRS, but if it's anything but that ^ then it's irs.

i think IRS is better for handling, live axle is better for some things but i'm not 100% what. getting low without camber issues. maybe burnouts.

Yeah IRS for handling, live for anything else as far as Im concerned. Just the simplicity of straight solid axles, no camber issues to worry about and less weight apparently.

IRS is independant rear suspension, for example, if you go over a pot-hole, only one side of the suspension is majorly affected, whereas with Live axel its one solid axel into the diff.. so more of the rear is affected.

would someone be able to tell me what's wrong with my computer? the pub is described as per the following image, yet i keep on seeing technical related questions in this area. clearly there must be a problem with my computer as other people don't seem to be getting the same description for the pub as me.
