Maybe try a little clip-lock plastic bag - they seal pretty well.
Or wrap your key in glad wrap.
Boardies often have pretty good pockets that seal well so it shouldn't come out.

Unless of course your a speedos type of guy.......:yeah:

I'm not 100% but I think if you wrap the key in foil it will block the fob then you can just put it in ur usual lock box I will check tonight

Ahh the good old days where you could slip a kid a $5 note to look after your $h17 while you surfed and you come back to find your tyres all washed and polished for you because they had such respect for your ride.

Guess probabily more like $50 now and still end up with a key'd ride lol.

PS .. I have definitely heard of foil insulated lock boxes, will have to dig up the link.
The padded foil lined envelopes you get your eTOLL \ Road Toll 'tag' transponders in work a treat as well.

Not sure on the whole insurance point of lock boxes thou, beach or not .. anyone know the legit ruling on them?

Just tested this and it worked for me. I’m facing the same issue of locking the car at the beach. I use a lockbox and with the key inside it you could still open the door pressing the button on the door handle. I’ll be testing this out soon.
