Hey guys working on my vt v6 today,I need to get to the intake manifold but his car has LPG, which means its got that big metal thing attached to the intake pipe. How do I remove this in order to get to the manifold. The lpg thingy has a stiff pipe attached to it. Sorry for not knowing what it's called but I'm not familiar with lpg systems. Thanks in advance.
Pictures would help. I am more thinking you may be talking about the PCV hose in which case you should be ok to just pull it off and then put it to one side. Or if your talking about the pipe which the LPG travels through you will be fine to take it off temporarily while you work on your motor. Just make sure your not going to run it on LPG with it disconnected.
Your talking about the LPG mixer which bolts onto the intake. Just dismantle the intake tube and it'll be fine. Bit of advice, if you don't know what your doing with LPG, then ####ing don't play with it. It's sensitive stuff.
just want to get to the air intake manifold. its in the way, the intake pipe is so stiff so its hard to get off with that **** in the way
removing the mixer is easy undo the clamps holding the intake tube to the throttle body and the other end onto the mixer , carefully remove the PCV hose if fitted and other vacuum hoses always note where the hose's came from , the vapour line from the convertor to the mixer is usually stiff and easily broken rotate the mixer to remove the elbow from the mixer leaving the vapour hose and elbow behind the mixer should now be clear of the throttle body and air intake
