Hi, i just bought a vs commodore. on the plate under the bonnet it says SUSP: FE2, but it has done 200,000 kms so the shockers and springs may have been replaced. how can i tell if it has fe2, if i can?
do you have a mate with a VN thats std hight ??? if so measure the distance differance betweem the 2 cars, by rights your should be about 2inches lower
If the plate says you have FE2 then you have it. Mine has ~200K and shockers etc have never been changed....still corners and handles better than pedestrian models.
Shockers would be aftermarket at 200k. If springs have been replaced they will be an aftermarket brand (you wouldnt replace with second hand standard height springs). Get under and check what colour your springs are. Black is factory so that would be your FE2 springs. Yellow is normally King Springs, Red is pedders, Blue is lovells. They are the 3 main aftermarket brands.
