How is it possible to install a set of 6x9 speakers into the back shelf of my VR SS??? or is it easier to make a new shelf?

the best thing to do is remove the parcel shelf, then remove the factory speaker mounts, remove the factory grills, mark out your holes making sure the 6x9 grill surround just covers the hole left by the original grill, mount the 6x9s onto parcell shelf and refit shelf. depending on what 6x9s you're running they should just fit in. otherwise a piece of mdf carpeted under each speaker will do if your 6x9 magnets are to big.

Now thats what I was going to say , well done mate , other option if they are shallow 6x9s is to make a MDF bridge under the shelf and fit the speaker under the shelf and leave the grille in there.

get some spacers. and rather that horizontally set them up vertically no worries, no cutting just remove old ones and put new ones in with spacers.
