**how do you paint plastic bumpers?? any special additive needed??

what do you use to paint the plastic bumpers etc... on cars?
im painting the bumpers the same colour as the car.

do you need to add a special additive for your paint so that the paint sticks to the plastic and can flex without cracking?

what do you use for filling up chips in the plastic bumpers, polyester or putty?
or do you need a special filler?

does anybody know what to use?

Cheers...

There's a type of bog that come in a tube thats awesome for stone chips, small scratches etc. I'll go out to the shed in a sec and see if i can find it for the name of it.

No, no aditive for the paint. It's all in the primer. You'll need to use a plastic primer, instead of your average primer you'd use on metal.

you can actually buy a "bumper primer" specifically for the plastic bumpers, but plastic primer will usually do fine as 1vngal said

There is also an additive that you can add to your paint so it flex's with the plastic... When you see cars that have been in accidents, and the paint has peeled a little, and you can pick flakes of it off... That is when the additive is not used… I haven’t sprayed since 1996 so it could be included in primer by now…
