how do you pull VT - VZ - WL - WK outer door handles apart?

Hi guys ive just bought these NOS backing plates for my VT calais, which is white, im going to paint these to the colour of the body, and i also have maroon WL with chrome handle inserts, im wanting to swap the chrome over to these, and thoughts how its done?

Knock out the metal pin that runs through the handle assembly
