I need to take the plastic cover between the front and rear door where the seat belt holder/runner thing connects to the pillar. I tried to pull the plastic cover off where i assume the bolt is holding the seat belt holder in, but it felt very brittle and like it would snap if i pulled it.

So, should i just pull it and hope it doesn't snap or am i missing something?

I found the panel still went back OK after I snapped the clips on one side of my car (the other side clipped off OK). The piping (or whatever it's called) holds the panel in so broken clips do not matter that much in my opinion. It may help to slide something like a paint scraper behind the panel to locate the clips and apply leverage there.
