Bought another car today,wasnt going to but the price was right. The question is how the heck do i tell if its a VTS2 SS or VTS2 EXEC as arent the vins the same for either??
Its got what appears to be all the right bits but the front bar appears to an exec frt bar with a ss lower spoiler,switch is on the dash for the spotlights though & the instrument cluster just looks like a standard one. I thought the ss had a different cluster setup. If someone could help it would be appreciated. I would provide the vin but i dont think it would help as from what i have found the vins are the same for both of these cars.
Build year is right(2000)model is right for an exec or an ss,was built in Adelaide,corect id for a 5.7, everything else is pretty much standard on the vin.

and EXEC does 0-100 in 9.3 SS 6.6

problem is with that is its a manual,so either way i am fairly sure you could do 0-100 in 6.6 secs
theres a possible answer i didnt think of,did the exec come out with a manual 5.7??

will try to find kerb weight as well

lsd was standard on the ss and option on the exec but that wont help you unless it doesn't have one

Kerb weight?? Rim size??

How is that going to help him figure out if it is REALLY a SS??

Best way to work it out is simply ring holden with the VIN and build number.

Or my understanding is that the only way to work it out yourself is the option code on the buld plate, which is the 3 characters on the end of the model line.

An Exec reads: VT8VK69-1**
1 = exec level, ** is variations of the option pack = eg 1BB, 1CC, 1DD, 114, 115, 124, 125 etc.

An SS reads: VT8VK69-8**
8 = SS level, ** is variations of the option pack = eg 8BB, 8CC, 8DD, 824, 825 etc).

Hope that helps.
