How many KM are to many

Down the road from me is a small independent car yard , there are two V8 Commodores down their , among other makes , one is a 2003 SV8 with 240,000 on the clock , the other a VX Calais V8 with 185,000 , both in my opinion are slightly over priced with the SV8 at $11,000 and the Calais at $9995, I like the look of the Calais but think the KM are too high for the price.

SV8 would really be 6K its 14yrs old.

Look elsewhere, you can get either one of those MUCH cheaper.
Km's shouldn't be relevant if it has a good service history.

i'm not really looking for another car , as they are both V8's and Commodores they caught my eye , but yes , I think they are both over priced , I did think of offering $7000 for the SV8 , just to see what the dealer would say , it's interior has seen better days .

V8's tend to be pricier here in NZ, hell Commodores in any variety seem to be over priced really.

When it comes to cars and km's it can be a bit of a lottery, I have seen very high mileage cars that are in great condition and low mileage cars that are crap.

Dealers always over price their car's, previous owners probably got around 3k trade-in on those. As for KM's, my VS V6 just ticked over 340,000 km's and is still going strong, that said it took me a long time to find a non-molested VS ute and the motor has been reconditioned at some point

I respectfully disagree, at 240,000km and 14 years things are at the end of their life, starter, alternator, trans, diff, suspension components etc.

All the non-service items. As far as price both seem well over priced considering what we pay here in NZ for a V8 we'd be concerned with that pricing here!
