    08 SV6 manual
    Hey everyone,

I'm looking at either getting a Ve Sv6 or SS manual but at the moment just tryin to get my overall budget together. I was curious how many Kms you roughly get to a tank, also if you could state whether you drive a auto or manual. Only asking as i've heard the different can be quite small and rather get an actual idea rather than off red book etc.

    Cheers,

    Nick

Well the new SV6 with the SIDI engine uses the same as a the SS...10.2L/100km...

So, in reality, the SS is proved to be just as financially viable in running costs.
I get about 13.5L/100km on my SV6 and thats auto...but thats also because I have road rage too!! haha...bit of a heavy foot when angry lol.
Anyways, I would say I would get to about 500kms.
    Cheers

I'm picking up my SV6 MY10 in the next week or so. From all accounts the SIDI 3.6 V6 is about 15% more economical than the previous model, with more power to boot. As far as auto or manual, unless you REALLY, REALLY want a manual, you probably should stick with the automatic, as the programming these days allows the auto to give better fuel economy than you are likely to get with the manual anyhow. Also, Holden quotes a better towing capacity (2100kg vs 1600kg) for the auto vs manual. If you want the SS, only the 6 litre V8 coupled with the auto transmission has Active Fuel Management (i.e. reduces the number of cylinders when at low torque operation).

that is basically what I took into account when making my choice

I got 10.6 on a run from Yass to Bathurst and back, via the hills and Cowra. Pretty good for a WM 6ltr.

I normally get around 12 to 13 to and fro mwork (which includes 40% highway driving).

    MY09 SV6 Manual

    I have an SV6 MY09 manual.

Around town, I fill up once a week on the "cheap" day. This is usually around 600 Km, and I generally get around 10.5L/100Km for normal driving.

I have only done one long trip, going to QLD and back just after I picked the car up. On the return, filled up in QLD (Gold Coast) and made it back to Sydney comfortably. That was in excess of 800 Km, though I am not sure what the exact figure was. And the car was heavily loaded with the aircon on permanently.

From VSII through VYII to VE MY09, I have noted the cars getting heavier, but fuel consumption remaining about the same.

hi guys, just joined, thought id make a post. Just bought a 2006 ve sv6. Round town i was gettin about 12-14l per 100 kms, depending on my driving, and highway about 10-12.
When i went to Adelaide i bought a ss cold air induction system.
Round town im now getting about 10.5lt per 100 kms and highway ive had it as low as 8.2.
Im wrapped, and excelleration is improved too.
ps..when i got the 8.2 checked the predicted mileage guage and it said...920 kms to go. nearly run off the road!!! lol.:w00t:

500km per tank in my MY09 sv6 90% in stop start traffic with major road rage at certain times which leads to excess fuel being wasted. :whistling
