just put a 20L jerry in the boot so when u start to splutter u can fill up, most i done was 75 litres and i was on the empty warning, ive also seen there is a very empty warning but im too scared to go that far

I used to run my V6 low often. There's roughly 10.5 litres left at the low fuel warning and roughly 2.5 litres left at very low fuel warning. Not impossible to get 100kms out of low fuel warning and 15-20 out of very low... I've done both quite a few times.

I think it's more of an issue if the fuel pump runs dry.

I thought I made myself perfectly clear, I'm just interested in case of a zombie invasion.....

The zombie invasion is already here......So best you run your car out of fuel, refill it just to check the total amount of fuel it takes.....So when they come knocking on your door, which will happen soon, you actually know

So wouldn't running the tank out of fuel mean the pump runs dry? If the pump runs dry, wouldn't that cause premature failure?
