how many lines are going in and out of a power steering pump? also just to see if im right on how it works does the fluid go down the reservoir to the return hose fitting into the rotor/vane to pressure hose fitting and if to much pressure some goes threw the relief valve thanks in advance
essentially: reservoir > pump pump > rotary valve on the steering pinion rotary valve > fluid line along the rack fluid line > piston in the rack piston > fluid line fluid line > rotary valve rotary valve > reservoir
I forget what the V6 pumps look like, but I think there's one fitting in the back of the pump that you have to unscrew for the feed into the rack, and the return line should run directly into the reservoir. You should remove the pulley, then unscrew the reservoir, remove the reservoir, unscrew the high pressure line from the back of the pump, then unbolt the pump.
pretty sure you need to do what morton said... undo the pulley, then there should be 3(?) screws holding in the reservoir then undo the 1 line at the back of the pump (and the one going into the reservoir if you really want to) and IF i remember right, 2 long bolts that hold the pump onto the engine..... would be more specific but its late and im not 100% lmao
yes.. the pully plate thing 4x10mm bolts after thats off.. ontop there 2 screws behind the resivour and one on the braket where pully thing use to be.. then theres 2x 17mm bolts to undo.. after that it should just come off, just watch out for p/s fluid waiting to spill on you
just remember to loosen the nuts on the pulley with the belt on, then take the belt off after that. otherwise you'll be pushing **** up a hill with a pointy stick edit: hey since when was the swear filter removed?
Hey ****, you're right. **** isn't censored anymore. btw, love the phrase "pushing **** up hill with a pointy stick"
