I haven't seen this discussed as yet, but how many parts have been carried over to the "all new" VE?

I noticed the indicator and wiper stalks are the VY-VZ design. The headlight switch also looks very similar if not the same. The engines are carried over with tweaks, same with the transmissions.

Has anyone noticed anything else?

Read in one review that the order of the wiper speeds is reversed. ie up to go faster. Anyone noticed this?

There would be a fair few mechanical parts that were carried over that "did the job" from the previous model.

The power train in particular the Auto is the same it has the same gear ratio's as the VZ and an increase in engine size from 175 to 180 kw is only 8 hp so really there is no change there, it is not hard to change your 175 to 180.

The ratios in the 5 speed auto for SV6, Calais and Calais V have been changed.

The "performance" twin exhaust for the Alloytec is where most of the additional power comes from. Hence the small increase in kw for Omega and Berlina and the slightly more substantial increase in power for SV6, Calais and Calais V.

It went from 172kw to 185kw. They were all 172kw from January 1st because of Euro crap. So the jump was in fact 13kw.
