    Hey everyone,

    Hoping someone can help me....

I have a 1998 VT Acclaim Series 1. It has 223,000 kms and I am the 3rd owner and have owned it since 2003. (It had 80,000kms when I brought it) It is silver, although the paint is pretty rough, with a few minor scratches and minor dints all over. I was going to trade it on a new Sportwagon, but I have been offered only $500 for a trade. My mate has since offered me $1000, but I really think its worth at least around $2000. I have full service history, it has never missed a service. Tyres are 18 months old. I have never had a serious problem with this car and the only reason I wont to update is because I have the money and two toddlers, so I want more boot space. Please ask any questions you need to help me work this out!! (I am a single female and am just a bit worried about being taken for a ride!!)

    Thanks in advance

    Jess

$3k-$4k with rwc and rego seems right to me depending on condition, no rwc and no rego will be less but over $2k is what your looking for. Be somewhat firm on the price but you also have to balance it with being realistic, people will always try and talk you down too far on price :)

With the GMH dealers struggling to sell their new cars, and offering big incentives, I would be looking at getting another trade-in quote from another dealer. Tell them what YOU, the customer, want.

I'd say 3k would be a comfortable price, maybe advertise it for $3500 and see how many bites you get

Even the roughest of VT Execs are still going for over $2500 for the most part. You should be able to get $3000 without too much hassle, depends on a) how rought the body is b) how bad the tyres are and c) rego/rwc.

Car Prices - Search Car Prices & Values Online - Red Book is the best place to get a fair idea of what a car is worth.

I sold my 98 VT Executive series I with 223,000k's last week for $3,000
I had it on facebook for $3,500 on a buy swap sell page, it took only 3 days for it to sell
Interior was excellent and all instruments etc worked.
I had a couple of dents around the exterior including one from a ROO. nothing major though
    17" Mags - Roof Racks - Driving Lights 2x 100w spot beams - Boot spoiler - 6 months Rego

if your's is an acclaim, I'm sure you could get this price atleast or a bit better (depending on condition of course)

start with a reasonable price, but slightly more than you'd like to get for it becuase you will always get an offer atleast $500 lower than you are asking - I wanted $3,000 minimum for mine so I advertised it for $3,500 although I think I could have got atleast $4,000 for it, but was a bit keen to get a new toy LOL and only need another $2,500 towards the purchase
